Meanwhile, in the Cluster...
jhadkdshkadja Shadow Riders! hsajs *waits for more screencaps*

Thanks! This blog hasn’t been abandoned, I promise. The main reason for the long gaps is because I made the mistake of trying to cap/commentary a single episode all in one chunk. Which, I quickly realized with my full-time job, is a really bad idea.

This is my first watch blog and I cap everything from scratch myself, so I’m still fumbling around trying to figure out scheduling. Hopefully, I’ll be back on track soon. :)

Jade: And someone has to watch your back with this ice flea around.

Cryos: Charming.  I must say this is the start of a beautiful friendship…

That last shot is one of my favorites in the whole show.   Great way to end an episode.

Jade: I’m going with you.

Graveheart: Then you do believe in the Alliance?

Jade: No… but I believe in you.

I just had to make a separate post for this exchange.   Because, daaaaaawwww. *turns into goo*

Jade: Not so fast.
And now Jade has officially joined the ensemble.  Hurrah!

Cryos:  I’ve attempted to contact Prince Pyrus of Fire.  His Vizier, though, is a bit… overprotective.
Graveheart: Then we’ll just have to find some way around him.
I forgot to mention this before, but Jim Byrnes uses almost exactly the same voice for the Vizier that he used for Inferno in Beast Wars.  And it’s awesome.

Lord Mantel:  EXIIIIIIILLE!

And what does GH get for all that trouble?   Banned from his homeworld, because Mantel’s kind of an idiot.

Jade:  Manual control online.  Get in.

And then a whole lot of blowing up ensues.

I love how the point behind the episode was to portray Graveheart and Jade as a equal combat team just as much as it was to introduce Planet Rock.

Graveheart: Can you do anything?
Jade:  Doubt it, but I’ll try.

Jade saves Graveheart’s ass.  And it’s not the only time.

Female characters rescuing the hero not being portrayed negatively for the win.  Hell yes.

GH distracts the drones while Jade evacuates the remaining Quarriors that were lucky enough not to get shot.

Though this does not go terribly well for him and he winds up dangling off an edge while the Battle Moons are deactivated…
